Mission and Engagement

We at Good Samaritan Lutheran Church is to train and equip ordinary people to go and do extraordinary things in the name of Jesus so that all might see, hear and experience God’s love in tangible ways.

As part of our weekly faith formation cycle, we dedicate time to service projects and local mission trips to do God’s Work with Our Hands. Find more information below about our recent and upcoming service projects, as well as other ways to serve in our area!

Welcoming Migrants to DC
For the past month, the DMV community has shown up to welcome migrants being bused to D.C. from Texas by Governor Abbott. 30+ buses have arrived so far, carrying around a thousand people. Help make a difference in greeting these migrants and sharing the love of Jesus!

Clinton Street Community Center, Baltimore
The Clinton Street Community Center is a non-profit begun by Breath of God Lutheran Church with the mission to acquire, repair, and maintain properties in Highlandtown so that they can be used to support children and families. For those who have interest and skill in service through construction, this is a fantastic opportunity to work with those Good Sam has partnered with in the past (Breath of God led Building Puentes, a mission trip to Puerto Rico in years past).

You can learn more about the Clinton Street Community Center, or make a financial donation, on their website.

You can sign up to register as a volunteer on this page.

Local Ministries

By helping those without steady sources of food Good Sam hopes to partner with our local community in making a real difference.
