Learn

As disciples of Jesus, we are always about the joy of finding Jesus active in our lives as well as sharing the love of Christ with others. We grow in this process through Christian education.

We always have more fun when we put our heads together

Some of the programs we offer that help us engage and sustain a living faith are:

There was a time that God came along on our journeys in a tent. Now days God comes along in our hearts!

Sunday School

Available each Sunday morning for ages 3 and older. We have been blessed with an outstanding and dedicated group of teachers for children, teens and adults.

Bible Studies

Several of our ongoing Bible studies are Women of Faith, Thursday Men’s Word & Prayer and Women’s Wake-Up Call. Other opportunities are always developing for spiritual growth and Bible studies.

Confirmation

Blessing and Prayer at Confirmation

Blessing and Prayer at Confirmation

Lay-leader and Pastor-supported two-year study of the Christian faith and Lutheran tradition for 7th and 8th graders. It includes hands-on activities, service projects, and usually a retreat. It leads the young person toward a more mature faith in Jesus Christ and a positive identification with the life and mission of Good Samaritan.

Offered in late July or early August, VBS is a fun learning time for children and youth. It’s a big part of Good Sam’s ministry to children, with 50-70 children from the community attending, and 35 adult and youth volunteers leading.

High School and Middle School Youth ProgramsIMG_0635-3858rev-0

Offered for youth in grades 6th-8th and 9-12th, it provides fellowship, activities, off-site outings, and volunteer opportunities that are a reflection of our beliefs and missions. We also travel to the triennial ELCA Youth Gathering.

Fall Focus

Each fall we have a program emphasis that is congregation wide and learning oriented.  Together we read a book or study a topic and bring those themes into worship, small groups and congregation activities.
