Lutheran Campus Ministry: “Looking Back & Looking Forward: A 50-Year Celebration!” — May 2
Lutheran Campus Ministry at the University of Maryland is very excited to announce “Looking Back and Looking Forward: A 50 Year Celebration!” We will be honoring Pr. Elizabeth Platz’s 50 years of work with the ministry and her incredible legacy as the first woman ordained in the ELCA, as well as looking to what the next 50 years of campus ministry at the University of Maryland will bring.
This celebration will take place Saturday, May 2, at 2:30 p.m. at St. Luke Lutheran Church: 9100 Colesville Road, Silver Spring, MD 20910.

Daylight Saving Time — Time Change on March 8
Time change this Sunday, March 8! Spring forward–put your clocks ahead one hour before you go to sleep. (We’ll lose an hour of sleep, beginning at 2:00 am.)
Easter Flowers — Order by March 22
Even though the season of Lent has just begun, Easter is around the corner. To reflect our joy on Easter day, consider purchasing an Easter flower to decorate our church. As you leave worship on Easter (April 5), you are welcome to take it with you.
On Sunday mornings in February and March you will find order forms printed on envelopes in the narthex. You can fill out the form and include a dedication. The cost per flower is $8.00. Payment must accompany your order and can be placed in the offering plate. Orders must be in no later than Sunday, March 22. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact Debbi Y.

Weekly soup and bread suppers begin Wed., Feb. 25 and continue through Wed., March 25. Join us at 5:30 pm for this Lenten meal together. Vespers begin the same evening at 6:30 pm. This is a short half-hour time of reflection, music and meditation. Join us. See the schedule below for details about the focus for each Wednesday Vespers time of worship.

Ash Wednesday Worship — February 18
Lent is coming! Join us for Ash Wednesday on February 18 at 7 pm. This is a somber service of imposition of ashes and is a great way to begin thinking about shaping our faith as we prepare for the celebration of Easter.
