What is “Engagement”? It’s an aspect of your Discipleship: how you connect, interact, and participate in the life of the congregation, even outside of Sunday morning! Below are upcoming opportunities to engage with the congregation or community, as well as some ways to find Good Sam in other places online.
Icon CMO Church Directory
What is Icon? Icon is the name of the service Good Sam uses to house their church directory. You can download the app on your phone to access it from anywhere, or login to the website at www.iconcmo.com to view the directory from your computer.
How do I get the app? Go to either the Google “Play Store” app on your Android or the Apple “App Store” app on your iPhone. Search for Icon CMO using the search bar and download the app with the blue dove logo called “IconCMO.”
Once you download and install the app, you’ll need the church’s phone number (301-863-4740) along with a username and password to access the directory. Contact the church office during normal business hours to have us create a username and password for you. Once they do so, however, you only have 48 hours to log in for the first time before the information expires, so be timely!
Good Sam Community Facebook Group
What is ‘Good Sam Community’? The Good Sam Facebook Community is a private Group on Facebook, meaning that only members of the group can see who is in it and what they post. It’s a great place to share encouragement, announcements, prayers, and connect as a community!
How do I join the group? You must have a Facebook account to be a member of the group. On the Facebook website (on your computer) or app (on your smartphone) search for “Good Sam Community.” Click the button that says “+Join” and answer the question that appears.
Once you’ve been approved, the group will show up with the rest of your Facebook groups on the sidebar (if you’re using the website) or under the groups button at the top (if you’re using the app) and you can start being part of the conversation!
What is SignUp Genius? SignUp Genius is a website that Good Sam uses to collect all of our event signups in one place. It helps us get an accurate count for events and make sure we have the right number of helpers.
How do I use SignUp Genius? Click the link provided by Good Sam; you’ll usually see it in our Wednesday Connections emails, though it may be other places as well. Select which opportunity you’d like to provide help for or participate in, and click the button “Submit and Sign Up.” Fill out any other information on the next page (like how many people are coming, your name, or what you’re bringing) and you’re done!
You can download the SignUp Genius App for your iPhone or Android to track your signups on the go. You can also create a free SignUp Genius account to get email reminders about your event or track which signups you’ve been invited to and participated in.
