Notice of Re-Opening Good Sam Worship

This content has been archived. It may no longer be relevant

Dear Brothers and Sisters-in-Christ at Good Sam,

Following our rescheduled worship service via Google Meet last evening, it was agreed that we would resume in-person worship at our physical church property on Sunday, May 31, 2020 at 9:30 am (as is our Summer Worship Schedule). Church Council invites you to complete this SURVEY as we begin to prayerfully plan our next steps. The date for resumption was arrived at to ensure that all the necessary protocols are in place. They will include detailed sanitizing, signage, and distancing arrangements like roping off some pews. The Fellowship Hall will be used for overflow. Additionally, we are ordering equipment, courtesy of a generous contribution from one of us, to enable us to live stream the service to those who feel the need to remain home until such a time as their considerations and circumstances allow them to join us in person. While we are waiting for the resumption of normal church functions the office will remain closed for weekly use but Pastor Elijah will be available by phone/email/Zoom/FaceTime. All church staff will continue to come and go to the church office as needed.

Please understand that this decision is not mandatory and can be modified or entirely reversed if the COVID conditions dictate so. We are dealing with a virus that is wrapped into layers of the unknown and whose ultimate elimination seems distant at best. As such, patience and flexibility will guide our steps. In the meantime, I invite you to join me as we pray for faith and courage in the middle of tumult. These are events for which the Bible exists and I believe this pandemic would have occupied a section in the Bible had it occurred prior to the conclusion of Scripture. Hence it behooves us to put on lenses of faith as we move forward – shrewd as serpents and wise as doves.

Please remember to complete this SURVEY as we begin to prayerfully plan our next steps.

Yours because His,

Pastor Elijah
