Sermon: “Confused About the Will of God?”

Prayer:  All-powerful God, in Jesus Christ you turned death into life and defeat into victory. Increase our faith and trust in him, that we may triumph over all evil in the strength of the same Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. Amen.

Congratulations 2018 Graduates!

2018 Good Samaritan Lutheran Church Graduates

Please join us in congratulating our 2018 Graduates. There will be a blessing of Graduates at the 9:30 am Service for Paige Marino on June 10th; Jamie Hartigan on June 17th; and James “JD” Kelly on June 24th.

Tori Benefield 

Tori will be graduating from Union University, Magna Cum Laude with general honors and a degree in Biology with minors in Chemistry and Business Management. She will be returning to Southern Maryland to be a Civilian Contract Specialist for NAVAIR’s contracts department.

Jamie Hartigan 

Jamie will be graduating from The Calverton School,  Huntingtown, MD with International Baccalaureate (IB) honors. Jamie is going to be a student at University of Arizona (Tuscan). She will be studying Neuroscience and Cognitive Science.

James “J.D.” Kelly 

James will graduate from Great Mills High School. He has achieved Eagle Scout Award, St. Mary’s County Science Grand Award, and STEM Co-Salutatorian. He will be continuing his education at Stanford University, where he plans to study Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.

Paige Marino

Paige will be graduating from Leonardtown High School. This summer she will have an internship with Pacific Architects and Engineers in their Business Department. In the fall Paige will attend the University of Mary Washington, Fredericksburg, Virginia.

Casey Normyle

Casey will be graduating from North Carolina State University, Raleigh, NC with a degree in Biochemistry and a minor in Business. She will be staying in Raleigh looking for a job as a Researcher or a Pharmacy Technician.

 

 

“Shipwrecked and Rescued by Jesus” VBS Theme for Summer 2018

Gearing Up for Vacation Bible School (VBS)!
VBS season is right around the corner!  It’s time to spread God’s Word through singing, science experiments, crafts, games and delicious snacks.  VBS will be July 16-20 from  1:00 – 4:00 P.M. Children age 3 (and potty trained) through rising 6th graders are welcome to be Shipwrecked and Rescued by JesusWe are looking for teenage and adult volunteers to help make VBS unforgettable.  If you would like to volunteer, sign up on the Volunteer Form. If you have questions about VBS please contact Cocoa Maday. Registration forms are available in the church office and online at Good Samaritan VBS Registration.

Sermon: “Sabbath and Restoration”

Prayer:  Almighty and ever-living God, throughout time you free the oppressed, heal the sick, and make whole all that you have made. Look with compassion on the world wounded by sin, and by your power restore us to wholeness of life, through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. Amen.
