We are very excited to have Sherri Fenwick join our staff. She graduated from St. Mary’s College with a Music Education degree and has a full career as a music teacher in the St. Mary’s County School system, as well as decades of experience as a church musician in and out of this county. She directs a tri-county Southern Gospel Choir and comes to us with a long list of people whose lives she has touched through music in area churches, schools, choirs and more. She is a gifted organist and is wonderful on any keyboard. Not only does she love music, but she loves the Lord even more.
Sherri begins with us starting on January 2nd and her first choral directing and Worship accompaniment with us will be on January 8th. Please welcome Sherri as you meet her. You might also meet her husband William Fenwick as he comes with her from time to time. He is a long-time member of Mount Zion Methodist Church on Hwy 235.
Prayer: Stir up your power, Lord Christ, and come. With your abundant grace and might, free us from the sin that hinders our faith, that eagerly we may receive your promises, for you live and reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
The Good Samaritan Community is playing a big role in the initiatives and goals of the American Red Cross. We are planning a blood drive on Friday, January 13th from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Good Sam. Did you know that 80 percent of blood donations are given at blood drives hosted by generous sponsoring organizations like ours?
We’re proud to partner with the Red Cross and be a part of all they do for our community, our country, and around the world. The blood collected by the Red Cross helps millions of patients in over 2,400 hospitals across the country and to keep up with demand, the Red Cross must collect 14,000 units of blood each day. Consider being a part of this life saving event TODAY by donating blood, volunteering during our drive, and/or promoting our blood drive with your co-workers, friends and family. There are many ways you can help, but most importantly, we hope you come out to donate.
Here are two ways to sign up and schedule your donation time on January 13th:
1. Send an email to Chris Van Camp (Blood Drive Coordinator) firstname.lastname@example.org
2. Sign up directly with the Red Cross at www.redcrossblood.org. Sign in or create an account and select your appointment time under Good Sam’s Blood Drive.
We’re looking forward to seeing you on January 13th!
Prayer: Stir up the wills of all who look to you, Lord God, and strengthen our faith in your coming, that, transformed by grace, we may walk in your way; through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
Prayer: Stir up our hearts, Lord God, to prepare the way of your only Son. By his coming nurture our growth as people of repentance and peace; through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
