We Celebrate with the families of these people who have achieved great milestones this year in education.
High School
Kamesha Hicks – Graduated from Great Mills High School.
Christina Henderson – Graduated from Leonardtown High School with a Maryland Certificate of Merit as well as an Honor Thespian award. She will attend Emerson college in the fall.
Connor Kelln – Graduated from Patuxent High with an academic achievement award in sociology, and was voted one of the 20 most interesting seniors. He was also one of eleven seniors to highlighted in a “senior spotlight
Ben Kelly – Graduated from Great Mills High School. Ben graduated last Thursday night, June 2nd, from Great Mills High School. Ben was a two sport, four-year athlete at Great Mills High School. He was named as an All SMAC Honorable Mention in Varsity Soccer, and All County Honorable Mention in both Varsity Soccer, and Varsity Baseball.
Ben will be attending the College of Southern Maryland, following an Information Technology program, and upon completion will transfer to the University of Maryland, College Park. Ben was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout, by the Boy Scouts of America in October of 2015.
Jacob Layer – Graduated from Leonardtown High School and received a Certificate of Merit. He will attend UMBC in the fall.
College Graduates
Breana Benefield – Graduated Magna Cum Laude from Union University in Jackson, TN with a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. She has an internship with the University of Tenn. this summer working in their agriculture division. She has taken a high school teaching position in the Fall outside of St. Paul, Minn. at Trinity School.
Christy Coombs – Graduated from St. Mary’s College on May 14, 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts in Asian Studies, Bachelor of Arts in History and a minor in Religious Studies.
Kanawha Mack – Graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education.
