As we were studying the life of Jacob from Genesis last month, it occurred to me how God is constantly about the work of forming faith in our lives. Every new generation is a new opportunity and a new challenge in causing and calling forth faith within God’s people. The Great Reformation that we remember and celebrate today will be 500 years old in 2017. But that Reformation should not overshadow or eclipse the formation and reformation of an active and living faith in our hearts and actions today. Perhaps this is the real reformation of which we must all take heed and be aware.
