You have heard the Thrivent Financial name associated with fundraisers and various projects around the church. The Thrivent board (made up of a representative from each of the 9 Lutheran churches in the Tri-County area) has been taking requests for funding from each church. Since Thrivent changed its focus from Lutherans-only to being open to all Christians they will be decreasing the Thrivent Board funding for 2015 and doing away with the Thrivent Board in 2016.
In place of the board will be action teams. If you are a Thrivent member you are eligible to receive funding for two $250 projects per year. It starts now for 2014. To see how to get started go to www.thrivent.com/actionteam.
Would you like to see: rain barrels for the community garden, playground equipment for Sunday School or our new backyard or Thanksgiving dinner boxes? If you are not a Thrivent member and have a project that needs funding, you can see if a Thrivent member will lead the action team for you.
