Position Description: Part-time music director/accompanist for Good Samaritan Lutheran Church in Lexington Park, MD
Hours: 8-10 hrs/wk including Sunday mornings
Responsibilities:
• Play piano/keyboard for up to two Sunday worship services and occasional additional services
• Provide leadership for Chancel Choir
• Participate in Worship and Music planning
• Support Praise Team
• Recruit, rehearse and accompany special music presentations
Qualifications:
• Proficient in keyboard skills, sight reading, and musicality
• Experience in effective music rehearsal techniques
• Skilled in conducting choirs
• Experience in choir training
• Knowledge of use of liturgy and music in worship
• Must be team player and have excellent communication skills
• Professional or volunteer experience in church music leadership highly desired
