Purposes of God, Dawn upon us

Epiphany is the revealing of God’s activity among us.  Discovering Jesus alive and working in our lives and among us is always an epiphany.  So it was also for the Magi who traveled long and far to see the child who was born King of the Jews (Matt 2).  We tell this story to remind ourselves that God is still drawing people to come and discover the Christ who lived and still lives among us.

The Spirit of God continues to pour out among us gifts of many kinds.  We call them fruit of the Spirit.  They are described in Galatians 5:22-23;  love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.  Even in these ways we find the presence of God working in our lives.

We have a few extra Epiphany Star’s (each with a Fruit of the Spirit on it) if you were not able to be present and draw one.  It is a great exercise to spend a year reflecting on where God might be working in your life through that gift of the Spirit.  Come by the office and pick one up.
