Stitching Sisters Update – posted Nov. 20

This content has been archived. It may no longer be relevant

Hello everybody, hope you enjoyed that beautiful weather last Monday (the 18th). This is just a reminder that the mid-day Stitching Circle is meeting Thursday, November 21, 1 to 3 pm, in the Disciples Den at church. I will bring some treats and make some coffee. Hope you can join us. And bring any project you want to work with.

Because some of us were beat after clean-up day, we moved the regular knit-crochet gathering to Tuesday, November 12 at Edna’s home. There were 4 hearty souls (Ginger, Ele, Kim, and Edna) who braved the brisk and damp weather. As always, there was lots of conversation. One of the subjects was the upcoming bake sale scheduled for November 24 that the Stitching Sisters is sponsoring. Hope everyone can bring something for this bake sale which will benefit the high school youth trip to the ELCA Youth Gathering. We will be wrapping noon to 4:00 on Saturday, November 23. Join us.

Ginger L. and I have purchased some special wrapping containers for the bake sale. Ele also read the lovely thank-you she received from Mary P. (Deb Y.’s mother) for the knitted prayer shawl she had made. And I shared a picture of June B. (a former member at Good Sam) in the shawl I gave her while struggling with myasthenia gravis.

I made quite a delectable dessert for that night and a copy of the recipe is provided below. Even Ele wanted a copy and she is a champ in the baking department. Our next knit-crochet night will be held Monday, November 25 at Ginger L.’s home. I think the dessert for that evening should consist of any unsold bake sale items from Sunday. Just a thought. Please let me know if you need a copy of the blanket stitch pattern. I can send it to you.

Keep stitchin’ !

Your sister in faith,

Edna
