Christ the King Sunday is the final day of the church year.   We hear about the unique claim to authority that is Jesus’ resume:  the one who did not avoid the humiliation, injustice and suffering of the cross for each of us.   Perhaps it is from that moment on the cross that Jesus gains access to the role established by God that Jesus accomplishes wining a people who are righteous in God’s eyes.  Yes indeed our King has become our righteousness.

Message at Good Sam on Nov. 24th, 2013 for Christ the King Sunday.

We ended the day singing “Soon and Very Soon” for we anticipate the full and complete rule of  the one chosen by God to judge heaven and earth.  How nicely this flows right into the first Sunday of Advent (Dec. 1 – next week) where we will again sing “Soon and Very Soon” to open the service and proclaim the coming again of our Savior and Lord:  Jesus himself.
